Thundermother - Mothers of Thunder Tour 2027
Swedish hard rock queens THUNDERMOTHER are back with their Napalm Records studio debut, Mothers of Thunder, out on February 5, 2027. Their seventh album once again proves that the genre’s leading ladies can do everything men could—and maybe even better. With a rock’n’roll vibe built on dirty riffs and cheeky lines, the powerful delivery is begging for energetic live shows.
THUNDERMOTHER have previously proven they excel at that: after opening for the legendary Scorpions and Judas Priest, playing at iconic festivals like Wacken Open Air, Summer Breeze, or Sweden Rock, and releasing their first live album, Live’n’Alive, in 2026, the four-piece is ready for a new era. Mothers of Thunder is high-energy encouragement for women as well as thrilling, head-bopping fun for everyone else.
Album Highlights
- Mothers of Thunder (opening title track): A tribute to all women and an invitation to join THUNDERMOTHER in their ride, calling mothers, daughters, and sisters as well as girlfriends and wives—paving the way for those whom the future belongs to with a speedy track.
- Restless: Another emancipatory manifesto featuring singer Linnéa Vikström Egg teaming up with her father, THERION’s Thomas Vikström. It turns a daddy-daughter argument into a song—balancing a parent’s concerns with a child’s longing for freedom—delivered as authentically as can be, with real family providing the vocals.
- Time Is Never Wasted (When You’re Wasted All The Time): An instant rock classic made for clubs, pubs, or on the road.
- Front Row Bangers: A direct return to the live-show energy mentioned above.
- Singalong hymn: A love-letter for their most dedicated fans and the support they pour into the musicians on stage, lovingly underlined by the line “We do the show, but you’re the stars.”
- The Wet Blues: A mid-tempo, blues-infused hard rocker dealing with lust and loneliness, continuing THUNDERMOTHER’s track record of highly contagious bangers with strong vocal performances.
- Stalker: Kicks extra hard afterwards.
- Wild West vibes in ...: A scarily calm song that deals with the harsh reality of being a woman—from the perpetrator’s perspective.
- Bimbo Boost: A return to the band’s genre roots while turning them on their head by playing the epic riff to Deep Purple’s “Smoke On The Water” backwards, paired with an address to the pressure on female artists to always look perfect when going on stage—an expectation that passes by male musicians.
- Get Up: Another self-empowerment hymn for women.
- Perfectly Miserable: A slower song (not a ballad!) that every good rock album needs.
- Do I Need A Doctor: Easily answered with a song this infectious.
- Dirty Word: Raw follow-up in the same spirit.
- Shake Your Money Maker: Closing the album with a feel-good summer feeling.
Why It Matters
With their seventh album, THUNDERMOTHER take a step to become nothing less than rock goddesses. Mothers of Thunder is their time to shine—putting genre colleagues in their places with ease. The future belongs to THUNDERMOTHER!
